We just had to purchase some for one of our saddles. We chose the stirrups the Collegiate Half-hole and the fillis peacock stirrup irons. Don’t you sometimes feel like one hole is just a bit short or just a bit long if you go to the next hole?! I sure do! Especially if my muscles are a little tight. The half-hole allows for a more precise adjustment with less of a gap. As far as the irons, that’s for a security measure. Too often we hear about someone falling off the horse and their foot getting stuck in the stirrup. The damages can be drastical. This allows your foot to pop-out in case you fall, especially useful on trail or when jumping in case of a fall. Afterall, we never know when the horse will spook – no matter how good he is!
